1. Chiri means bird in the local language. An interesting ornament is worn by married women of Kinnaur. It is called khul-kantaie and consists of several, often a couple of dozen, large earrings worn hanging down from the hair over the ears mounted on a strap of cloth.
2. Bali is the classical basic form of all ornaments in North India. This type of crescent-shaped loop earrings was in use in Asia Minor and the eastern Mediterranean area since about 2.500 BC.
3. Gaddi women wear an ornamentcalled chakon their head. It is a silver domed top-of-head ornament.
4. Phulliis star or circular shaped fixed on the nose with a kulfi.
