What is Beti Hai Anmol Yojana?

 

• Beti Hai Anmol Yojana is for those girl candidates belonging to the below poverty line category.
• Two daughters of the single family are eligible for benefits.
• The state government deposits the Rs 10,000 scholarship amount in Post Office / Bank account of girl child when they are born.
• Girls studying up to the 12th standard also receive assistance of Rs 300 to Rs 1200 for the purchase of books and dresses.
• BPL category Girls studying at undergraduate level or other equivalent courses are given Rs 5,000 per annum.

 

Purpose:

• The main purpose of the Scheme to encourage education of the girl child for BPL families, and this scheme would provide assistance up to 2 girl child of the BPL family.
• The purpose of this scheme is to make the girl independent with the necessary financial aid and education. Assistance would be provided at the time of the daughter’s birth and an annual scholarship would be provided for the daughter.

 

 

How this will work?

• This scheme is for girls of BPL families up to two girl children. After their birth, the department deposits rupees 10,000 per girl child in the post office/ Bank account.
• These girls get scholarship ranging from Rs 300 to Rs 1200 from first to 12th Class for their books/dresses etc.
• Upto 2 girls born in a BPL category family are given a scholarship of Rs. 12,000 to pursue higher education.

 

Eligibility:

• The candidate must be a permanent resident of Himachal Pradesh
• To the girls who are below the poverty line (BPL).
• From each BPL family, only two girl children are eligible.
• All BPL girls who are born after July 5, 2010, can get the benefits of studying till class 12.
• BPL category Girls studying at undergraduate level or other equivalent courses are given Rs 5,000 per annum.

 

Benefits and features of Himachal Pradesh Beti Hai Anmol Yojana:

• Only those daughters who were born after July 5, 2010, will be given the benefit of the scheme.
• Under Himachal Pradesh Beti Hai Anmol Yojana 2022, two daughters can take benefit from a family of Himachal Pradesh.
• For this scheme, 981933 daughters will be given benefits, for which the Himachal government has appointed a budget of 32.81 crores.
• An initiative of Beti Hai Anmol has been taken by the Himachal Government to provide financial help for the studies from the birth of a daughter till graduation.
• Under this, Rs 10,000 will be given on the birth of a daughter and Rs 300 to Rs 1200 for the purchase of books and uniform for classes 1 to XII.
• If the daughter is willing to study further after class 12th, then Rs 5000 will be given through the scheme.
