News:-  Punjab government increases the number of attempts in Punjab Public Civil Service(PPSC).

 Changes made:-

A)  Changes in the number of attempts:-

1.  The Scheduled caste students will get an unlimited number of chances.
2. The General category students will get 6 chances against 4 earlier.
3. Also, Backward classes will get 9 chances.

B) Changes in age limits:-

1.  General- 37 years
2. BC/OBC’s- 40 years
3. Sc- 42 years

 Existing Rules:-

• As per the existing Punjab Civil Service (Appointment by Combined Competitive Examination) Rules, 2009, the candidates of all the categories had four chances to appear in the PCS (EB) examination.
• Before implementation of the Punjab Civil Service (Appointment by Combined Competitive Examination) Rules, 2009, there was no limit on the chances to appear in the said examination for all the categories
