 News:-  Black Spots caused 17 lives in a month in Ropar(Punjab):- Report

 

 What are the Black Spots?

 

• Black Spots are the position of a road where maximum accidents and casualties take place.
•  According to the report prepared by “PUNJAB VISION ZERO & TANDRUST PUNJAB MISSION”, there are around 30 black spots in Ropar(Punjab) due to which 612 people lost their lives in last 3 years.

 Causes:-

• Faulty road designs.
• Lack of Infrastructure for pedestrians path.
• Nexus of contractors and corrupted government officials.

 This app has launched for urban areas regarding the importance of afforestation environment pollution.

 Why?

 The Punjab government is on the drive to improve the environment and infrastructure as the 550^th anniversary of GURU NANAK DEV JI is approaching.

 “i-hariyali” comes under which scheme?

 Government has launched ‘i-Hariyali’ mobile application under ‘Mission Tandarust Punjab’ aimed at increasing the state’s green cover.

 Feature:-

Using it, users can book a sapling of their choice, a maximum of 25 per person, from nearby government nursery.
