What is Railways Police?

The branch of the police force specializing in maintaining law and order and detecting crime on the railways.

The President’s Police Medal is a decoration awarded to members of law enforcement in India. Established 1 March 1951, the medal was originally called the President’s Police and Fire Service Medal.
The medal is awarded for either gallantry or distinguished service, with the gallantry version of the medal being accorded higher precedence.
The medal is awarded annually on Republic Day and Independence Day.

The third phase of Jung-e-Azadi Memorial is dedicated to the martyrs of the Jallianwal Bagh Massacre & the unsung heroes who were incarcerated in Andaman Cellular Jail during the freedom struggle.

The Cellular Jail, also known as Kala Pani, was a colonial prison in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, India. The prison was used by the British especially to exile political prisoners to the remote archipelago.

Punjab CM referred to his government flagship programmer “Connect with your roots”

The Scheme is open to Young Boys and Girls of NRIs Parents living abroad, a platform to go back to their roots and connect with their roots and discover their identities.
Foreign-born youth who are into second, third and fourth generations of Punjabis and have never travelled to Punjab are the focus of the programme. The government plans to bring them to Punjab and showcase its culture, heritage, education system and the way of living of the people here.
Punjab chief minister Capt Amarinder Singh launched the programme at the India House – Indian high commission in London, on September 13, 2017.
