News:-Punjab Names Medical College After Ambedkar

• Ambedkar, the Punjab Cabinet has decided to rename the Government Medical College in Mohali as Dr B.R. Ambdekar State Institute of Medical Sciences. To pay tribute to the father of the Indian Constitution, B.R.

 

Purpose:-

• To pay tribute to the father of the Indian Constitution, B.R. Ambedkar, the Punjab Cabinet on 18th February 2020 has decided to rename the Government Medical College in Mohali as Dr B.R. Ambdekar State Institute of Medical Sciences.

• In a bid to undertake rejuvenation of highly polluting Buddah Nallah in Ludhiana, the Punjab Cabinet under Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh okayed ₹ 650 crore project for the same in the first phase.

 

Plan:-

• Under this ambitious plan, an additional Sewerage Treatment Plan having the capacity of 275 MLD including associated infrastructure would be developed, which would go a long way in solving problems of Buddah Nallah and subsequent pollution of river Satluj.

News:-German based Freudenberg Group CEO Ulrich Kerber discussed with Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh the modalities for a 50 million Euros (more than ₹400 crores) investment in the state’s automotive sector.

•  The Chief Minister assured the Freudenberg Group of his government’s full support and cooperation to undertake expansion in the state of Punjab.
