News:-Government to form a panel to placate teachers.
Context:-Will serve as a platform aimed at improving the overall education system in the state.
Why this decision?
- After facing problems in reaching out to various government teachers’ unions, the Punjab Education Department has decided to set up a state-level advisory committee to bridge the communication gap between the two.
Current situation:-
- The state has no education policy to date. Moreover, we need to change the syllabus as per students’ psychology.
Composition:-
- The committee will have education experts, teachers and officials of the Education Department.
Purpose:-
- The advisory committee will serve as a platform to bring overall improvement in the education system of the state. The committee will not only get feedback about problems but also suggest solutions.
Contract farming:-
- Contract farming involves agricultural production being carried out on the basis of an agreement between the buyer and farm producers. Sometimes it involves the buyer specifying the quality required and the price, with the farmer agreeing to deliver at a future date.

News:-Come Jan, all govt departments to use eOffice.
Context:-Documents issued by Seva Kendra to be pushed to DigiLockers.
- The Punjab Government has announced that all state entities will start dealing in new file work only on eOffice from next month, a step towards a digital revolution.
- All important services, including various kinds of certificates and licences, are delivered through Seva Kendra. The government is also bringing the services of the Revenue and Transport Departments on the Seva Kendra platform.
- The society has created state-level applications on e-Seva, Debt Relief and PM-Kisan, bringing down pendency from a whopping 23 per cent to only 1.5 per cent.

News:-Govt. have constituted the ‘State Anti Fraud Unit’, to address complaints of beneficiaries under SarbatSehatBimaYojna.
Result:-
- Out of 1502 complaints received on ‘104’ helpline, 1220 complaints have already been addressed and closed.
- A special team has been constituted under the Deputy Medical Commissioner to immediately redress the grievances at the district level.
- Stern action will be taken against in case an empanelled hospital denies to provide the benefit of the insurance scheme.
