What is NeVA technology and how it will make legislative processes more accessible?

  • S. Kultar Singh Sandhwan, Vidhan Sabha Speaker, said the National e-Vidhan Application will make legislative procedures more available to the people and the live telecast of House proceedings will encourage accountability and democratic faith.
  • Punjab Vidhan Sabha personnel receive digital technology training.
  • During this programme, officials received particular training on Punjab Vidhan Sabha’s notice office, notice section, digital schedule, question branch, translation branch, online house committee module of committees, etc.
  • He added the Vidhan Sabha currently handles questionnaires, notices, legislation, pending reports, online agendas and papers, etc.

How this technology will help?

  • NeVA app will streamline legislative processes and reduce paperwork, Sandhwan said that it delivers documents digitally to lawmakers that will save time as well as increase overall efficiency.
  • NeVA reduces the cost related to printing, distribution and storage of physical documents, which is an effective step in environmental unfriendliness.

What is the news?

  • Punjab is set for a transformative journey with the ‘Mera Ghar Mere Naam/SVAMITVA Scheme’ as Master Trainers are now fully equipped to drive its success.
  • Under the guidance of Mr. KAP Sinha, Special Chief Secretary (Revenue), the one-day training program was inaugurated by Mr. Keshav Hingonia, Special Secretary Revenue-cum-Mission Director of SVAMITVA to the Government of Punjab, here at MGSIPA.
  • All the Additional Deputy Commissioners (General) and District Revenue Officers from all the 23 districts of the state participated in this training session.

Mr. KAP Sinha, Special Chief Secretary (Revenue) shared:

  • SVAMITVA Scheme, which fosters socio-economic development, will further empower rural landowners by granting them property rights.” He said that this initiative has the potential to revolutionize land governance, granting ownership and control over land.
  • With today’s training, our Master Trainers have been fully equipped to accelerate the implementation of the scheme, said Mr. Hingonia, adding that our trained Master Trainers have possessed the knowledge for land surveys, mapping and property title issuance, vital for SVAMITVA’s success at the grassroots.”
  • He said that the state of Punjab is committed to rural empowerment through transparency, accountability and technology, ensuring benefits reach every household.

 

About ‘Mera Ghar Mere Naam/SVAMITVA Scheme’ :

  • With a view to resolving the property related disputes in the rural areas falling under Abadi Deh/Laal Lakeer, “Mera Ghar Mere Naam/SWAMITVA” scheme would virtually prove a boon for the residents to obtain legal title for their properties.
  • The aim of this scheme is to provide rural people with the right to document their residential properties so that they can use their property for economic purposes.
  • Before preparing legal titles, mapping would be done through Drone Flying. The maps of these drone mapped villages should be obtained and displayed on large flex boards at common areas of the villages so that people can submit their objections regarding the errors in the maps within 90 days.
  • After verification, their names for final approval would be sent to the Survey of India.
