News:- Needy benefiting from health plans: Health Minister

Context:-

  • Replying to a debate moved by Narinder Thakur under Rule 130 in the Vidhan Sabha today, Parmar said 22 lakh persons were being covered under Ayushman while 6.42 families had been registered under Himcare. “A sum of Rs 34.33 crores had been spent on treatment of 33,093 persons in the last six months since HP Swasthya Bima Yojna was launched,”
  • Health Minister said the Sahara Yojna announced by the CM in this year’s budget was providing succour to the poor who were getting the help of Rs 2,000 per month.

 

About HP Swasthya Bima Yojna:-

  • The scheme is being introduced by the Himachal Pradesh government as a health insurance scheme under which annual health insurance of Rs 5 lakh will be made available to those families who could not avail the benefits of Ayushman Bharat scheme.

 

Benefits:-

  1. Himachal Pradesh government has exempted BPL,Rehdi and MGNREGA workers from the premium amount of Bima to provide maximum benefits of this scheme at a cheaper rate.
  2. More than 40% of the disabled, Anganwadi workers, outsourced employees, Miss Day Mill workers and part-time employees will have to pay a premium of Rs 365.
  3. Applicants benefiting from [HP Universal Health Protection Scheme] will have to pay a premium of Rs 1000.
  4. The state government is going to benefit about 33 crore people through this scheme.

 

Who will implement this Scheme?

  • Department of health & family welfare has formed a nodal agency named as Himachal Pradesh Swasthya Bima Yojna Society which will take care of all the schemes being implemented in the State of Himachal Pradesh.

 

About Sahara Scheme:-

  • The State Government has launched the ‘Sahara Scheme’ to provide financial assistance of Rs. 2000 per month to the patients belonging to the economically weaker sections of the society, who are suffering from specified diseases such as Parkinson, Malignant Cancer, Paralysis, Muscular Dystrophy, Hemophilia and Thalassemia etc.
  • The patients suffering from chronic renal failure or any other disease, which renders a person permanently incapacitated, have also been covered under the scheme.
  • The main objective of the ‘Sahara Scheme’ is to provide financial assistance as a social security measure to patients suffering from fatal diseases in order to obviate and mitigate the hardships faced during prolonged treatment to an extent.
  • All patients belonging to the economically weaker sections of the society, whose family income does not exceed Rs. 4 lakh per annum and suffering from the diseases and taking treatment on a long term basis, are eligible for grant of benefit under the scheme. The confirmation of the diagnosis of the disease can be confirmed from medical treatment history, an examination by the medical board. The factum of the disease can be confirmed from disability certificate if available to avail the benefit under the scheme.

 

The benefit to ASHA workers:-

  • The Accredited Social Health Activists (ASHA) and other health workers would be involved in the process of identification of the beneficiaries and also assist them in the completion of prescribed formalities. The incentive of Rs. 200 per beneficiary would be given to ASHA workers for identification and completion of the application.

News:- MoU with Singapore govt on satellite township scrapped.

Context:- The Urban Development Department has cancelled the MoU signed with Singapore Government on August 27 for the setting up of a satellite township at Jathia Devi near here.

Who will execute now?

  • Himachal Urban Development Authority (HIMUDA) will execute the project.

 

What is Satellite township?

  • A satellite town or satellite city is a concept in urban planning that refers essentially to smaller metropolitan areas which are located somewhat near to but are mostly independent of, larger metropolitan areas.

 

About Himachal Urban Development Authority (HIMUDA):-

  • HIMUDA was constituted in 2004 by an act of Legislation under Himachal Pradesh Housing and Urban Development Authority Act, 2004, with objective to provide for the creation of a Development Authority to plan and develop land and create infrastructure to meet with the Housing needs of different income groups and to provide for development schemes for mobilizing public and private resources for the promotion of housing colonies and related infrastructure and to provide for the creation of appropriate Authority and mechanism for planned development of housing colonies. Actually, erstwhile H.P Housing Board established in 1972 was re-christened as H.P Housing And Urban Development Authority HIMUDA in 2004.

About Chief Minister Swajal Yojana:-

 

The Himachal government has decided to start “Chief minister Swajal Yojana” in the state.

  •  Under the ‘ Chief minister Swajal Yojana’, the state government will provide a pipe up to 500     meters for people belonging to the economically weaker section at 50 per cent subsidy. because of    this, the financially weak family will be able to get the faucet inside their house easily
