Topic:- Energy Sector in HP Budget 2020-21
What is the news?
- Our government is committed to delivering devbhoomi Himachal to the top even in the energy sector.
- This is how we have made special provision for the energy sector in financial budget 2020-21 In the Year 2020-21, projects of nearly 515 maigāvāṭa capacity can be started in the state.
New Update for Energy Sector:-
- Chief Minister Shri Jairam Thakur, while presenting the budget for the financial year 2020-21, has made historical announcements to further strengthen the energy sector. Hydropower exploitation is an important source of income for the state.
- Projects of about 515 MW capacity are expected to be commissioned in 2020-21, including 180 MW MW Bajoli Holi, 24.6 MW MW Wanger Homate and 100 MW MW Sorang and 111 MW MW Savada Kudu being implemented by Himachal Pradesh Power Corporation.
- The 100 MW capacity will also be commissioned by May 2020. Projects are proposed to be commissioned in 2020-21 at Luhri Phase-1 210 MW, Dhaulasidh 66 MW, Chanju-III Phase 48 MW and Diothal Chanju 30 MW.
Some Projects mentioned in Budget:-
Renukaji Project:-
- Renukaji Project 40 MW has been declared a project of national importance by the Central Government with an estimated cost of Rs 6,947 crore. Work on this project is expected to begin in 2020-21.
Power problem in Pangi valley will get relief:-
- In order to reduce the power problem in Pangi Valley, the state government proposes to set up 250 Watt per Grid solar power plant in 1,000 households in 2020-21.
8 EHT projects to be implemented,
- The Chief Minister said that in Himachal Pradesh State Electricity Board, in 2020-21, 8 additional EHT projects related to Kothipura, Nadukhar, Neerath, Dudhli (Shimla), Moginand, Kasauli, Waknaghat and Chakwan Khanni Industrial Parks and 65 related to electrification and system improvement/promotion. Implementation of high/low voltage projects is proposed.
