As many as 80 industrial units were approved for the youth under the Pradhanmantri Employment Generation Yojna (PMEGY) and Mukhyamantri Swavlamban Yojna (MSY) in the district today.
Deputy Commissioner said 82 applications were accessed for the approval while 80 were approved. He said Rs 4.25 crore would be invested in the units and the Centre and state government would provide subsidy to the tune of Rs 1.30 crore.

Under the MSY, any bonafide Himachali between 18-45 could avail this facility.
A subsidy of up to 30 per cent of the project amount was given under the scheme.
The entrepreneur could get the land registered at only 3 per cent of the cost while the industrial plot was given at 50 per cent of the cost.

There is a great need to promote self-employment, whether there is a lack of adequate employment in both the government sector or the private sector.
The state government of Himachal Pradesh has taken the step in this direction and announced a new scheme for the youth of the state.
These projects will not only explore the possibilities of self-employment but will also encourage all those related to it.
In this way, the scheme named Mukhyamantri Swavalamban (MSY) will explore the possibility of a new job in the field of self-employment. Several schemes have been announced along with this scheme, especially the Housing Benefit Scheme which will work at the regional level just like the Ujjwala scheme of Central.
