- The All India Agricultural Students Association (AIASA) has awarded the ‘Institution of Excellence’ Award to Dr YS Parmar University of Horticulture and Forestry, Nauni at association’s convention held recently at the Indira Gandhi Agricultural University, Raipur.
Who organised this event?
- The event was organised by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) & AIASA.

News:-Sirmaur to have zero-waste tourist haat.SHE-HAAT will be run by 25 women.
- Traditional dishes would be provided in breakfast, lunch and dinner for the persons halting at SHE-HAAT. Apart from this, traditional clothes would also be available for sale. Accommodation facility would also be available for guests
Purpose:-To make rural women financially independent, the district administration of Sirmaur, in association with the Tourism Department and NABARD, will soon set up SHE-HAAT, a marketing platform for the women to display and sell traditional products, in Bagh Pashog Panchayat Bhawan of Pachhad Development Block.
Why important?
- It will be Himachal’s first such venture which will be run by 25 women and will display products made by them. Not only this, but the zero-waste tourist centre SHE-HAAT will also be environment-friendly.
- The zero-waste building would be constructed where solar energy, along with the provision of a roof-top rain harvesting system would be installed. Polybricks made of plastic waste and management of manure and biogas from wet waste would also be part of this project.
- Kitchen and toilet waste would be used to run a small biogas plant. This zero-waste tourist centre would be equipped with modern kitchen, toilet, cafe and Wi-Fi.
