  • Avneesh Kaundal, a differently-abled player from Ganpati Education Society Kunihar, has been selected for the Special Olympics.

Which game he will represent?

  • Avneesh will represent India in the basketball team.

What is the news?

  • The North Zone-II Regional Conference on “Contemporary Judicial Developments and Strengthening Justice Through Law & Technology” was organised by the High Court of Himachal Pradesh, the National Judicial Academy in Bhopal, and the HP Judicial Academy. It ended today.

What CM shared:

  • Technology can boost judicial transparency, productivity, and efficiency. The North Zone-II Regional Conference on “Contemporary Judicial Development and Strengthening Justice through Law and Technology” was inaugurated today by Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu. Technology makes life easier for everyone, including the judiciary, he said.
  • The Chief Minister stressed that technology can help improve the justice system. The Chief Minister stated that virtual hearings during the COVID-19 outbreak saved people money and time.
  • He said a reliable and fast judicial system is necessary for a healthy and self-confident society and the country’s development, and when justice is served, the public’s faith in constitutional institutions is strengthened and law and order can be improved.
  • The CM said the judiciary is working hard to fix the country’s biggest issue, justice delays. He stated that preparing legal education for technology and the Alternative Dispute Redressal option are key goals for all lawyers.
  • He hoped the conference will generate fresh ideas and lead to legislative reforms in the country to quickly provide justice to the people.
  • Our democracy is based on the Indian Constitution’s “We the People” goals. Our democracy rests on three foundations. He said these pillars must work within their boundaries to bring wealth, transparency, and harmony to society.

What is the news?

  • The state level Peepal Jatar fair of district headquarters Kullu has come to an end.

About Pipal Jatra/ Vasantotsava:

  • Vasantotasava is traditionally named Pipal Jatra or Rai-ri-Jach. Every 16th Baisakh, Dhalpur, Kullu hosts it.
  • The Raja of Kullu and his courtiers sat on a Pipal Tree platform in front of the “Kala Kendra” and watched the traditional dance. This fair once had 16 Kullu gods, but it declined.
  • Himachal Academy of Arts, Culture, and Language revived this fair in 1976 AD. Kullu Valley spring blooms in Baishakha. The fair is now called Vasantotsava, or Spring celebration. Cultural presentations feature classical music and dancing. Vanstosava is now hosted annually from April 28–30.
  • Business-wise, it’s crucial. After the valley freezes, Lahaul people return home. This fair lets people buy agricultural implements and other essentials.

What is the news?

  • Chief Minister, Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu paid obeisance at Jonang Takten Phunstok Choeling Buddhist Monastery Sanjauli, Shimla today and prayed for the peace and prosperity for the people of the State.

About Jonang Takten Phunstok Choeling Buddhist Monastery:

  • Amdo Lama Jinpa started the Jonang Takten Phuntsok Chosling Cultural society somewhat outside the town at Sanjauli in 1963.
  • More than 100 monks presently live at this Monastery. They are from Tibet, from various other Himalayan nations, from Mongolia, as well as one is a Belgian. The goal of Jonang Monastery is to help the monks at strengthening in the merits of Buddhist technique so as to serve the community and the world.
  • The Jonang Taken Phutsok Choeling Monastery is the just one of its kind in India, the various other being just in Amro, Tibet. It was founded by Lama Jimpa in 1963. It was originally called Sangey Choeling.
