News:- Legal Literacy camp was organised at Komic village of Himachal Pradesh.
Context:- A legal literacy camp was held at Komic village which in Spiti.
About Komic Village:-
- It is the highest motorable village in Asia.
Who organised this camp?
- The camp was organised by the HP State Legal Services Authority.
Purpose of Camp:-
- To educate people about their rights and the facility provided by the government.
Functions of the State Legal Services Authority:-
- To give effect to the policies and directions of the Central Authority.
- To ensure that the operation of the legal system promotes justice on a basis of equal opportunity.
Purpose:-
- The purpose is to provide free legal services to eligible candidates (defined in Sec. 12 of the Act) and to organize Lok Adalats for speedy resolution of cases.
Chairman:-
- Chief Justice of High Court.
Purpose:-
- Legal services authority provided free legal aid to the people belonging to the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes.
- Women and minors were also eligible to seek free legal aid and application for it could be written on a plain paper.
Important Facts:-
- Today, Dr Bhavna, who is from Shimla’s Kotkhai, met CM.
- Dr Bhavana has won international awards in the Asia Book of Records, India Book of Records National Award besides receiving an integral title like Profit Young Woman.
