What is the news?

  • Himachal Pradesh Transport Corporation and Paytm partnered, 10% discount on bus ticket bookings from Paytm.

 

Which company partnered with a Himachal Road Transport Corporation?

  • One97 Communications Limited, which owns India’s leading digital payments and financial services company-brand Paytm, today partnered with a Himachal Road Transport Corporation.

What’s included?

  • Under this partnership, 10 percent instant discount has been announced on online booking of all HRTC buses on Paytm App.
  • The company has come up with this offer to provide consumers the facility to book bus tickets online with discounts. Because the demand for domestic travel is increasing continuously across the country.
  • With this offer, users can easily book all HRTC buses – Ordinary, Ordinary Express, Himtarang Non-AC, Himmani Deluxe, Himgaurav AC and Himsuta AC. These HRTC buses connect popular destinations including Shimla, Dharamsala, Kullu, Manali, Mandi, Delhi and Haridwar with each other.

What is the news?

  • The horticulturists of the state will grow Italy-USA apples, 1.25 lakh plants will be distributed on completion of post entry quarantine.

 

Imported under which scheme?

  • The Horticulture Department has imported apple saplings from Italy and USA under the Horticulture Development Project.
  • 1.25 lakh imported apple saplings will be given to the horticulturists of Himachal Pradesh by the end of this year.

 

How State Government is contributing?

  • The state government has imported saplings of apples and other fruits under the Horticulture Development Project worth Rs 1134 crore. The government has set up clusters for the implementation of this project.
  • The horticulture department is providing imported plants to the gardeners of these clusters for three-four years.
  • Till the year 2023, only 53 to 54 percent of the budget has been spent under the approved horticulture development project, while the duration of this project will end in 2023. In view of this, the government will request the World Bank next year to extend the duration of the project.
