What is the news?

• The state government will launch a “hospital on wheels” – a government-run ambulance network across the state with a veterinarian on board.

Purpose:

• On-site treatment of injured or ill animals.

About the vehicles:

• These will be customized vehicles for veterinary health with equipment for diagnosis, treatment and minor surgery, audio-visual aids and other basic requirements.
• These would be equipped with a ‘hydraulic lift’ facility to move the animals to the nearest government veterinary facility.
