What is the news?

  • The Una district administration has amalgamated funds of three different schemes to boost empowerment of rural women and provide roadside amenities to commuters in the Kutlehar Assembly segment, which is almost synonymous with the Bangana Sub-Division.

 

What are these schemes?

  • Funds under the MGNREGA, National Livelihood Mission and Swachh Bharat Mission have been utilised to construct rain shelters, toilets and a convenience store at three locations along the Una-Hamirpur National Highway at populated spots in Dhundla, Kakrana and Nanavin villages.

 

Kutlehar MLA Virender Kanwar, who is also the Minister of Agriculture, Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, said:
  • The Una-Hamirpur Highway is a busy road due to religious tourism, as residents travel to Baba Balak Nath Temple and other shrines along the road. Besides, he said the Baba Garib Nath temple on the banks of Gobind Sagar lake in the Androuli village of Kutlehar is also a tourist destination.
  • Kanwar said a sum of Rs 5.7 lakh had been spent on each of the three locations for infrastructure, which includes Rs 3 lakh for the bus stop rain shelter, Rs 2.1 lakh for public toilets and Rs 60,000 for a public convenience store.
  • He said ‘Him Ira’ branded products, which were made by women self-help groups (SHGs) in the state are stocked at these shops, which are being managed by members of local SHGs.
  • Vimla Devi, a member of the Dhundla SHG, said the outlet on the highway has provided their SHG, a great opportunity to sell their products. Dhundla Gram Panchayat Pradhan Sushma Devi said the facilities at three spots on the highway had been successful.

  • The South Korean team has been informed about the Himachal investment opportunities.
  • A South Korean delegation led by Commercial Attaché, Embassy of the Republic of Korea Kwang Seok Yang, had a discussion with Director of Industries Rakesh Kumar Prajapati.

 

What was the discussion?

  • Director of Industries gave a short presentation of the investment opportunities available in the state.
  • During the presentation, the comparative advantages of Himachal Pradesh such as the availability of electricity, the single window mechanism, self-certification, land banking, on-line services, ease of doing business and support for industrial policy were emphasized.

 

Himachal Export with South Korea:

  • Director Industries also informed that Himachal Pradesh is having export of $3.41 million to South Korea and invited investment in electric park, medical devices park, bulk drug park, electronic manufacturing cluster and agro-food processing clusters.
  • Korean delegation handed over 21 portable air purifiers for hospital, schools, well- being products like mask packs, N-95 masks, nutrition and health care products like Ginseng sticks, glucose monitor to Deputy Director Health and Family Welfare Ramesh Chand.

  • School Education Board Dharamsala: Now the single girl child will also get Dr. Radhakrishnan scholarship.

 

Who will get?

  • Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education will now also honor single girl child under Dr. Radhakrishnan Scholarship Scheme. This scholarship will be given to two girl students of class X and three girl students of class 12. One student each from Arts, Commerce and Science streams of class 12th will be selected for the scholarship on the basis of merit.
  • This scholarship will be given to the girl students from the interest received on the funds available with the board. Under the Dr. The Radhakrishnan Scholarship Scheme, the Board of School Education will give scholarships to the meritorious 14-14 students of class 10th and 12th. On the basis of formula prepared according to merit and annual income, this scholarship is given to the poor and meritorious on the basis of formula fixed according to annual income. Now the board has also added a single girl child category to this category.
  • The scholarship is given with interest on Rs 21 lakh: According to the State Board of School Education, under the Dr. The Radhakrishnan Scholarship Scheme, the incentive amount is settled from the interest received on the amount collected as a fund by the Board. The fund remains with the board up to Rs 21 lakh. On this, an amount of more than one lakh rupees is received every year as interest. The board gives it to the meritorious under the Dr. Radhakrishnan Scholarship Scheme.
  • Five single girl children of class 10th and 12th have also been included in the Dr. Radhakrishnan Scholarship Scheme. This scholarship will be given to two girl students in class X and three in class 12th.
