What is the news?

The experiment will be done for the first time in Himachal: 3DI technology will indicate rain, flood.
After Uttarakhand, now for the first time in the state, 3DI technology will prove to be effective in dealing with the changing conditions due to heavy rains during winter and monsoon days.
Indications of rising water levels and floods due to rain, snowfall and falling glaciers in the river will be available two to three days before this technique.

About this Model:

It has been prepared on a pilot basis in the World Bank proposal.
This is the model of the Netherlands and the State Disaster Management Authority. The Netherlands has been given time to submit the proposal by 31 May.

How this will help?

There are dozens of hydroelectric projects from Holi, Bharmour to Bagga, including Chamera II, III. The district administration has geared up so that heavy rains during the winter and monsoon do not become the cause of major tragedy by taking a cataclysmic form. By feeding the data from meteorology into this technique, it will be estimated that how much water level will increase in the reservoirs and how much rain will be in the coming days. In this, cooperation of hydroelectric project management will also be taken.
By finding out the water level of the water collected in the dam hydroelectric projects and in what quantity the water will be released. This will be marked by the employees in the software. As soon as the data is entered in the software, this information will reach the administration, district emergency authority and others.
With this, the lives of people living on the banks of rivers, people who get sand and gravel out of the rivers and streams will be saved. In this sequence, two experts from the Netherlands have reached Chamba. Deputy Commissioner, DC Rana said that this project has been prepared with the help of World Bank. Experts from the Netherlands are working in this.
When the water level in the reservoirs rises, a message will reach the administration immediately. The alarm system will be on. Due to which all the departments will come in alert mode. 15 volunteers trained by the emergency authority may be entrusted with the task of making people aware.
