  • This award was presented by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the occasion of National Girl Child day virtually through Block Chain Technology and the award prize was transferred to the bank account of the awardee.
  • She was awarded with a cash prize of rupees one lakh and certificate.
  • Shriya is a professional young Indian Girl Karting Racer who competes in National Karting Championship in India and abroad.

 

Why is National Day of the Girl Child celebrated on January 24th?

  • National Day of the Girl is celebrated annually on January 24. Celebrated by the Ministry of Women and Child Development annually, the day aims to raise awareness about the rights of the girl child and help people understand the importance of giving adequate education, nutrition and support to girl children.

What is the news?

  • Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur inaugurated the Tax Haat Program of State Taxes and Excise Department here today. On this occasion, the Chief Minister said that Tax Haat is the pioneer system for improvement in tax adherence.
  • He said that tax has an important role to play in the development and prosperity of the Nation.
  • While appreciating the officers and officials of the State Taxes and Excise Department he said that due to their continuous efforts the revenue of the State has increased from Rs. 11 crore in 1974-75 to Rs. 7044 crore in 2020-21.

 

Provision in the Upcoming HP Budget:

  • Jai Ram Thakur said that establishment of Tax Haat was 2021-22 budget announcement of the Himachal Pradesh government which has been fulfilled today.
  • Through this service the tax related queries of all stakeholders would be resolved in a stipulated period.
  • He said that the government has provided many concessions to businessmen in GST. It was a matter of relief for the small businessmen. He said that lump sum tax payment limit has been increased from 50 lakh to 1.5 crore under the composition scheme.
  • The businessmen have also been provided relief for submitting monthly returns through Tri-monthly Return Monthly Payment Scheme.
  • The government has given the facility of filing zero return through mobile to businessmen having zero return.
  • He said that keeping in view the difficulties faced by the businessmen during the Covid period, the government provided relaxation in the time limit for filing the return.
  • He hoped that in future also the department would continue to work in facilitating revenue collection and businessmen class.
  • On this occasion, Chief Minister released the logo and launched the Twitter and Facebook page of the department.

What is the news?

  • Himachal government signs MoU for setting up Pharma Park.
  • Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur said here today that an MoU has been signed between the Government of Himachal Pradesh and M/s JAGS Pharma Pvt. Ltd. In setting up Pharma Park consists of an API and Capsule shell manufacturing and formulation and allied activities with proposed investment of around 750 crore, which would generate direct employment opportunities to more than 1000 people.
  • The MoU was signed by the Director Industries Rakesh Prajapati on behalf of the government of Himachal Pradesh.
