What is the news?
- An MoU was signed between Atal Medical & the Research University (AMRU), Nerchowk, and the Indian Institute of Technology, Mandi, here today for advancement of research and education activities in medical sciences.
- Amar Negi, AMRU Registrar, Nerchowk, said the MoU was signed to share research and education information between the two institutions. Workshops would be organized and educational initiatives would be undertaken jointly.
- ‘There will be mutual coordination between scientists and the faculty members of the institutions. They will visit one another to encourage and promote education activities. Scientific information and new research will be shared on mutual basis,” he said.

What is the news?
- Kullu c, shawl and other world-class products produced by 295 self-help groups (SHGs) in the district will now be sold on electronic platforms like Amazon and Flipkart.
How is this going to be advantageous?
- The initiative will boost sales and bring widespread popularity to Kullu’s unique products, giving them recognition on national and international markets. Efforts will be made to do comprehensive marketing for the benefit of GHGs. Devansh Awasthi, District mission manager, National urban livelihoods mission, Kullu.
Important Points:
- Up to 12 different products such as caps, shawls, socks, mufflers, womens sweaters, jackets, men’s sweaters and kurtis etc will be available on Amazon.
- Earlier, the products made by these SHGs were procured by the Urban Development Department, Shimla.
- The products of 172 SHGs of Kullu, 57 of Manali, 32 of Banjar and 34 of Bhuntar will be sold online.
