What is the news?
- CM launches helpline and website of the HP Nasha Nivaran Board.
Under which scheme it is launched?
- Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur today launched a special Drug Prevention Helpline for Mukhya Mantri Sewa Sankalp Helpline 1100.
Objective:
- The objective of this helpline is to provide necessary guidance and counselling on drug abuse.
- Jai Ram Thakur said that this helpline would connect drug dependent person or their parents with the nodal officers of Himachal Pradesh Nasha Nivaran Board and State Mental Health Authority in Shimla for initial counselling and guidance.
- If required, the person would be referred to the nearest hospital, medical college, Integrated Rehabilitation and Counselling Centre with psychiatric treatment facilities.
- The Chief Minister said the State Government has laid special emphasis on making good and quality drug prevention and rehabilitation system for those trapped in drug addiction.
- He said that the government has adopted a plan to make continuous multi-pronged efforts to solve the problems in an integrated manner.
- In this direction, the government is contemplating to bring a State Integrated Drug Prevention Policy, in which a multi-pronged strategy and effective action strategy will be formulated in a practical manner to deal with all forms of drug abuse.

What is the news?
- Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur virtually inaugurated six PSA plants at Medical College Chamba, Civil Hospital Chowari, Chamba.
- Out of these six plants, five have been established through PM CAREs and one through CSR.
What is a PSA for oxygen plant?
- The PSA process is a static separation of air, gases via a specific molecular sieve designed to adsorb nitrogen under pressure, to produce oxygen-enriched air composed of 93% oxygen and above.

What is the news?
- HP Cabinet gave its consent to award upgradation, operation and management of Culture Centre of Tourism Development at Baragran in Manali area of Kullu district to successful bidder M/s Maya Digital Media Pvt. Ltd. Mumbai-Deepa Roshan Lal Sahi (Consortium).
- This newly created facility would add leisure tourism to the itinerary and would emerge as art and craft hub for the artisan of the State.

What is the news?
- Virender Singh Pathania, a resident of a Ladori village in Nurpur, has been appointed as the new Director General (DG) of the Indian Coast Guard. He is at present posted as the Additional Director General (ADG) in the Coast Guard headquarters, New Delhi, where he had joined duty on September 30 last year.
- Before joining the headquarters, he had served as the ADG, Eastern Seaboard, Visakhapatnam. He would be the 24th DG of the Indian Coast Guard. Pathania has served the organization in various posts in the past three and half decades.
- He also held the charge of Deputy Director General, Policy and Plans, at the Indian Coast Guard headquarters.
About Indian Coast Guard:
- The Indian Coast Guard is an Indian maritime law enforcement and search and rescue agency with jurisdiction over its territorial waters, including its contiguous and exclusive economic zone. The Indian Coast Guard was formally established on February 1, 1977, under the Indian Coast Guard Act, 1978.
- The organization is headed by the Director General of the Indian Coast Guard (DGICG) who exercises general command and supervision from Coast Guard Headquarters (CGHQ) in New Delhi.
