News-Hamirpur college gets ICAR accreditation.

 

Context:-The College of Horticulture and Forestry, Neri in Hamirpur, a constituent college of Dr YS Parmar University of Horticulture and Forestry (UHF), Nauni, has got accreditation from the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), Delhi.

 

About the College of Horticulture and Forestry:-

  • The college was established in 2011 as an Institute of Biotechnology and Environmental Science.
  • In 2014, it was renamed as the College of Horticulture and Forestry, thus becoming the third constituent college of the university.

 

About ICAR:-

  • The Indian Council of Agricultural Research is an autonomous body responsible for co-ordinating agricultural education and research in India.
  • It reports to the Department of Agricultural Research and Education, Ministry of Agriculture.
  • The Union Minister of Agriculture serves as its president.
