A bit about Vallabhbhai Jhaverbhai Patel:
- Vallabhbhai Jhaverbhai Patel (31 October 1875 – 15 December 1950), known by the name of Sardar Patel, was an Indian politician. He acted as Home Minister during the political integration of India and the Indo-Pakistani War of 1947.
Let’s Understand about Vallabhbhaï Patel Sardar’s title:
- Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel was an eminent member of Congress, a lawyer and an excellent speaker.
- During the Bardouli Satyagraha of 1928, Vallabh Bhai was sent to Gujarat to direct the peasant movement in protest against the inhuman tax rate of 21%.
- There in Bardouli, with all the farmers, several women (Sharda Mehta, Shardaben Patel, Mithuben Petit are some) took part in the movement too.
- And they are the ones that gave Vallabh Bhai Patel the title of Sardar %)& eventually
- Mahatma Gandhi awarded the title of Sardar to Vallabhbhai Patel for his great organisational talent in Bardoli satyagraha.

What is the news?
- Himachal has been topped nationally for successful implementation of Crime and Criminal Tracking Networks and Systems in hill states.
Important:-
- Himachal was the first state in the country to set up a customized system as per their requirements, adding, that state-centric new modules like registration of migrant labourers, the emergency response of control rooms and department related Vidhan Sabha questions.
What are the Crime and Criminal Tracking Networks and Systems?
- Crime and Criminal Tracking Network & Systems (CCTNS) aim at creating a comprehensive and integrated system for enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of policing through adopting the principle of e-Governance and creation of nationwide networking infrastructure.
- The CCTNS provides enhanced tools for investigation, crime prevention, law and order maintenance, and other functions like traffic management and emergency response, improve communication, automating back-office functions, helping police staff to focus more on core police functions and provide improved service delivery to the public, citizens and stakeholders through access to police services in a citizen-friendly manner.
- This has also helped in creating a platform for sharing of intelligence across the state, country, and other agencies, besides sharing crime and criminal information database—across the state and country—enabling, improved and speedy investigations, crime prevention and tracking of criminals, suspects, accused, and repeat offenders.
