What is News?
- A webinar was conducted on Intellectual Property Rights and patent process, between the Intellectual Property Rights cell and Institutional Innovation Council of Shoolini University, along with Rajiv Gandhi National Institute on Intellectual Property Management Nagpur.
Purpose:
- The students and researchers should understand the importance to protect the IPR in order to remain competitive and relevant in the economy.
What is IPR?
- Intellectual property rights are the rights given to persons over the creativity of their minds in relation to technology, product, etc.

Imp: Mount Everest has a new height
What is News?
- Nepal and China agreed to certify the height of Mount Everest to 8848.86m from mean sea level.
What is the technique used in the measurement?
- Global Navigation Satellite System and the latest data.
Background:
- In 1954 the Survey of India declared height 8848m by using chains and theodolites, which was accepted by the world, except China.
Who was the first climber?
- Sir Edmund Hillary was the first to climb the Mount Everest along with Nepal’s Tenzing Norgay in 1953.
