What is the news?

  •  Dr. Justice D.Y. Chandrachud, Judge of the Supreme Court of India called on Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar at Raj Bhawan, Shimla, today here. The Governor honored him by presenting a Himachal cap and shawl.

 

 Lets learn about Chief Justice of High Court:

 

Which article provides High Court in every state?

ARTICLE 214, 215

  • There shall be a High Court for each State. Every High Court shall be a court of record and shall have all the powers of such a court including the power to punish for contempt of itself.

 

Who appoints Chief Justice and Jusged of High Court?

  • The Chief Justice and Judges of the High Courts are to be appointed by the President under clause (1) of Article 217 of the Constitution.

 

Important:

Article 217(1) in The Constitution Of India

(1) Every Judge of a High Court shall be appointed by the President by warrant under his hand and seal after consultation with the Chief Justice of India, the Governor of the State, and, in the case of appointment of a Judge other than the chief Justice, the chief Justice of the High court.

  • First Chief Justice of Himachal Pradesh: Mirza Hameeddullah Beg.
  • Current Chief Justice of Himachal Pradesh: Mohammad Rafiq.

 

 

Important News:

  1. Chief Minister Shri Jayaram Thakur ji participated in the Byas Aarti organized in “Meri Byas Jeevan Ki Asa” ceremony in Mandi today.
  • Before this, the Chief Minister worshiped in the Ekadash Rudra temple.
  • He also took an oath to keep the Byas river clean and pollution free.

2. Chief Minister Shri Jayaram Thakur ji addressed All India Teachers Felicitation Ceremony “Shiksha Bhushan” at Kufri, Shimla today.
