• Tilasangh Monastery is a fine Buddhist monastery in the state of Himachal
  Pradesh.
• The monastery is close to Kaa in Kinnaur district.
• Kaa is the highest point in the Hangrang Valley, which is 12 km short of Yangthang on
  National Highway 22.

• Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar honored the state police with the ‘President’s Color’ award, which was received by the Director-General of Police Sanjay Kundu at a ceremony organized at the historic Ridge here today.

Important Fact:

• It was the 8th State Police of India that won this distinction.
• The Indian Navy was the first of the Indian armed forces to receive the president’s color on 27 May 1951 by Dr Rajendra Prasad, then president of India.

8) Under the scheme, women will be helped to become self-reliant.

9) Women of the state can also get an annual cash incentive of Rs 1 lakh under the one bigha scheme.

10) This includes wages of Rs 198 per day. After every 15 days, women’s salary will be transferred to their Aadhaar linked bank accounts.

Governor of Jalandhar Doab: In A.D. 1758 Maharaja Ghamand Chand, supported Ahmed Shah Durrani (Abdali) who had become a master of all Punjab.

Ahmed Shah made Maharaja Ghamand Chand the Governor of Jalandhar Doab and the title of ‘Nizam-e-Jalandhar’ conferred upon him as a hereditary distinction (the only Hindu Rajput Nizam India).

However, he had to accept dominance of Adina Be Khan in 1758.
