News:-Opened 4 yrs ago, Baddi Trade Centre set to be functional.
- The multi-crore Baddi Trade Centre (BTC), inaugurated with much fanfare four years ago, will be functional with a Ludhiana-based hotelier securing its 10-year lease from the Baddi-Barotiwala-Nalagarh Development Authority (BBNDA).
Role of trade centres:-
- It supplies businesses with access to international/national trade services and facilities and seeks to simplify and stimulate trade by bringing together the offices of government and industry that serve and carry on trade.

News:-First-of-its-kind tourism fest begins.
- Dharamsala Tourism Fest began at the indoor stadium here on Sunday, attracting tour and travel agents from the across the country. The is the first-of-its-kind fest is being organised by hoteliers of Dharamsala and the Tourism Department to promote tourism in the region.
- Ashwani Bamba, president of the Upper Dharamsala Hotel Association, said for the first time hoteliers from the entire Kangra region had come together to host the fest. “We have invited tour and travel agents from the across the country to come and visit Kangra valley. The tour and travel agents would be taken to the hotel properties in Kangra and also locations which can attract tourists. About 100 hoteliers and other people associated with the tourism industry in the Kangra valley are participating in the festival.

What is a Centrally Sponsored Scheme?
- Centrally Sponsored Schemes are schemes that are implemented by state governments of India but are largely funded by the Central Government with a defined State Government share. Some examples of such schemes are Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act, Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana etc.
